Mudra and Pranayama Yoga Therapy Applications (Module 7)

An in-depth study of the use of mudra for integration and healing in all dimensions of being. Each day of the course focuses on specific families of mudras and their relationship to the koshas. Exploration begins with mudras related to physical health and expands to include the five elements and Ayurvedic health. This is followed by mudras for the wellbeing of the subtle body and gestures to awaken and integrate the eight limbs of Yoga. The course culminates with mudras for spiritual health and awakening. Concurrently, students learn the Integrative Yoga Therapy approach to the twenty most important pranayamas and explore how these techniques may be used in the therapeutic setting.

The application of mudra is supported by the use of asana, pranayama, bandha, guided imagery, and Yoga Nidra. Combining these practices with mudra supports the awakening of awareness at the different dimensions of being. In this way, students learn to use mudra in the creation of complete practices for health and healing for groups and individuals in professional Yoga therapy settings. SAVE 10% when you combine with the Yoga Vacation, Dec. 8-14th!
